One time I decided to remodel my room. I was 20 and I had a bunch of wrestling and video game posters that I had hung up when I was about 10. Even though no one really goes in my room, I felt like it was time for me to redecorate a bit in order to make it feel more “”adult””.
I started by taking down each and every single poster I had. It felt really weird and a bit sad, but it was time to do it. My walls felt blank and empty and I knew that I was going to end up putting up at least 3 or 4 of the 20-30 posters I had just taken down, but I was going to focus on the later.
Next, I decided to rearrange my furniture. My room was kind of set up like a normal kids room and, while it was comfortable, I just wanted something different. Something that would make it seem like a mini studio apartment or something to that effect. I set my bed up in one corner of the room and I moved my TV to the complete other side. I also set my computer up near my TV. It’s hard to explain, but the arrangement created more space than before and it also just felt nicer.
I also decided to get some new blinds as the old ones I had were broken and dirty. I used to have white blinds, but I decided to go with a different color so I got these brown, wooden blinds that look very nice.
I used to have wrestling bed sheets, so I decided to get rid of those in place of some plain colored, black sheets as well as a set of striped, white and blue sheets.
Finally, I picked out 2 or 3 wrestling posters and put them up in a couple of different places in my room. I thought about getting them framed so they’d look nicer, but I never got around to doing it.
Overall, I really liked and still like the look of my room. It feels exactly like I wanted it to feel: like a mini apartment.
