Virginia Lime Works is now offering 2 hour "Lunch and Lime" workshops at our offices in Madison Heights, Virginia. The purpose of these workshops is to promote a casual and open dialogue on historic masonry preservation. Starting at 11:00 participants are welcomed to our office and warehouse and are given a full tour of our facilities. From there, discussions move into our auditorium where an hour long introduction to historic masonry is presented. After a sit-down meal complete with Virginia Lime-Ade and Virginia Lime Pie, the group moves back into the blue room for an introduction to Traditional Masonry Binders (Quicklime, Lime Putty, Natural Hydraulic Limes, Natural Cements, and more).
If you would like to bring your group of 6-12 people to Virginia Lime Works to learn more about traditional masonry, we'll treat you to lunch. Please contact Jeff at Virginia Lime Works for more information and to schedule your visit.
"Sincere and heart felt thanks from the Wasington DC Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology International (APTDC) for hosting our group... The Presentations and hands-on demonstrations you offered were lively, interesing, and informative. All in attendance learned a great deal about traditional lime based materials for historic presefvation projects, and green construction. The VLW headquarters building is a great demonstration project from the walkway to the shower walls to the paint colors and decoration plasterwork to the warehouse and all its wondrous contents.
Warmest Regards,
Tom Vitanza, RA, AIA and Rebecca Stevens, AIA
