Enviro-Ment is Virginia Lime Works solution to better, affordable and green building. We set out nearly a decade ago to develop a way to build the healthiest building imaginable. We knew, through historic precedent and common sense that historic buildings are built to last and have a long track record of providing healthier environments than their modern counterparts. Our mission was to take what works from the past and combine it with conventional technology to bridge the two worlds. We've struck gold with the creation of Enviro-Ment Building Systems.

Enviro-Ment is what glues it together. Our proprietary lime binder that contains absolutely NO PORTLAND CEMENT, can be used to replace cement in concrete masonry unit production (producing "Enviro-Ment" Masonry Units), to create the creamiest mortars with the best workability, and make stuccos and renders that fix themselves if they crack. The performance of Enviro-Ment Building Systems comes from the multiple wythes of masonry bedded with the flexible and forgiving Enviro-Ment Masonry Mortar and En-Sulate Structural Grout. This allows for joint free construction and microporous channels that allow moisture to migrate and dissipate versus standing and stagnating in impervious walls.
